Friday – November 17th
Leave out about sun up. Have good roads. Get to Greenville S.C. about 11:30 a.m. Stop on side of road and have lunch. Pass thru Spartanburg in the afternoon. Hit the old N.C. state line about 4 o’clock. Can’t find place to camp so we stop between Gastonia and Charlotte and cook supper and then drive on to Charlotte where we get room to spend the night. Have settlement and retire.
Approximate mileage 231 miles(part 1, part2 ).
They traveled the Bankhead highway until they reached Charlotte.
This is his last entry so I assume he considered the trip completed because he was back at in Charlotte where Clarence joined the trip.
