I know it’s been a while since I posted but I’ve been traveling and very busy. But this week I received an email from Dave Dearmond in Kansas City. He fell in love with the site and do you know what he did? He went to the local library and looked thru the microfilm of the Kansas City Star paper for September 14, 1922 and he found the ad that granddad saw and sent me a copy. I’ve added it to the website along. Granddad made 30 cents and hour to pick the apples.
I also got permission to use a postcard of the French Broad River from Jeffrey L Durbin which I added to the North Carolina page. Thanks to both.
